Terms of Use

By downloading or using Ebcedia (the "App"), you agree to these terms. The App is developed and provided by independent developer Mehmet Şişoğlu (Istanbul, Türkiye; "we", "us").

01Apple's Standard EULA and these terms

Your use of the App is governed by Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (Standard EULA):

These terms apply together with it and add to it. If the two conflict, the rights Apple's agreement gives you prevail.

02What Ebcedia is, and what it isn't

• Ebcedia calculates the traditional abjad (letter-number) values of the letters in names and interprets them in a symbolic way.
• It is not fortune-telling and doesn't predict the future. Results are not a scientific measurement either.
• Readings are not a religious ruling or fatwa. They are not medical, legal, financial or psychological advice. Please don't base important decisions on them.
• Reading texts are written with the help of AI (OpenAI). They may contain mistakes, gaps or statements that don't fit you.

03Your account

• The App creates an anonymous account for you automatically. It is tied to your device.
• You can delete your account and readings in Settings > Delete All Data. Any unused analysis credits are deleted too and can't be recovered.
• Subscriptions and Lifetime purchases are tied to your Apple Account. You can reactivate them with Restore Purchases.

04Purchases

All payments are handled by Apple and charged to your Apple Account. Current prices are shown in the App and on the App Store, in your local currency, before you buy. Prices and the options we offer may change over time.

05Analysis credits and your free first analysis

• 1 analysis credit = 1 full analysis. A credit is a one-time (consumable) purchase and is used up when you use it.
• Your first analysis is free. The free credit is given once per device.
• The free credit does not unlock Compatibility or Baby Name analyses. In a Name analysis, only part of the result may be shown with the free credit.
• Credits have no cash value. They can't be transferred or exchanged for money.

06Premium subscription

• Premium is offered as weekly, monthly and yearly auto-renewing subscriptions. Which options are available may change over time.
• Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase.
• The subscription renews automatically for the same period and price unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple Account is charged for renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription on your iPhone in Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period, and you keep Premium until then.
• If a free trial is offered and you don't cancel before it ends, the paid period starts automatically. Any unused part of a free trial is forfeited when you buy a subscription.

07Lifetime

• Lifetime is a one-time purchase. You pay once, it doesn't renew, and it isn't a subscription.
• It unlocks Premium features on your Apple Account for as long as the App is offered on the App Store and keeps working.

08Offer codes

We may occasionally hand out Apple offer codes. You can redeem them in the App or on the App Store. Offer codes are subject to Apple's terms, can't be exchanged for money and may expire.

09Refunds

Refund requests are handled only by Apple, under Apple's refund policy. You can send a request at reportaproblem.apple.com. We can't issue refunds ourselves. Any mandatory consumer rights you have by law are not affected.

10Acceptable use

When using the App, you must not:

• create illegal or hateful content, or content meant to hurt others;
• use other people's names to mock or harass them;
• compromise the App's security, hit it with automated tools, or try to claim the free credit again and again by cheating.

We may limit or stop use that breaks these rules.

11Intellectual property

The App's design, code, graphics and texts belong to us or are licensed to us. You get a limited, non-transferable right to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes on Apple devices you own or control, as allowed by Apple's usage rules. You're welcome to share your own results and share cards personally.

12Liability

The App is provided "as is". We don't guarantee that readings are accurate or complete, or that the App will always work without interruption. We aren't liable for indirect damages arising from your use of the App. This limitation doesn't apply to damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence, or where consumer law doesn't allow it.

13Apple

• These terms are between you and us, not Apple. We, not Apple, are responsible for the App and its content.
• Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App. Contact us for support.
• If the App fails to meet an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price, if any. To the extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation.
• We, not Apple, are responsible for any product liability, legal compliance, consumer protection and intellectual property claims relating to the App.
• You confirm that you are not located in a country under a U.S. embargo or designated by the U.S. government as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not on any U.S. government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
• When using the App, you must also follow the terms of third parties, such as your internet or mobile provider.
• Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms. Once you accept these terms, Apple has the right to enforce them against you.

14Privacy

15Changes

We may update these terms. When we do, we change the date at the top and announce significant changes in the App. If you keep using the App after a change, you accept the updated terms.

16Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, and the courts and enforcement offices of Istanbul have jurisdiction. This doesn't take away any mandatory consumer rights you have under the law of the country where you live, including your right to go to the courts or consumer bodies where you live.
